Mission Statement

The Pine Beach Preservation Society, Inc (PBPS). is organized as a New Jersey 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation with the mission of preserving the Borough of Pine Beach’s history and connecting residents to the stories, people, and events of the borough through time. The PBPS will also align with the Borough of Pine Beach Master Plan’s Historical component to protect and preserve historical sites within the borough.  The vision is to gather, preserve and celebrate that history.

Additionally, the PBPS will work to advance the understanding, appreciation, preservation and
restoration of items associated with the history of the Borough of Pine Beach, New Jersey. This
is being accomplished through:

  • The collection, preservation, restoration, exhibition and archiving of artifacts and documents related to the founding and continuing evolution of the Borough of Pine Beach. The PBPS will seek out, collate, and arrange to display material which will illustrate the history of the exploration, settlement and development of the Borough of Pine Beach.
  • The identification and preservation of landmarks, buildings and sites that exemplify the Borough’s historically diverse standing and continue to uphold the endearing reference to Pine Beach as the “Jewel of the Toms River”.

Encourage an understanding of, and an appreciation for, the history of Pine Beach by
holding meetings at which historical lectures, entertainments, discussions, and other programs
are scheduled: by marking historical sites, roads, trails and buildings: by publishing work
concerned with historical research: by working with school administrators and teachers to
encourage the study of local history: and by engaging ni other appropriate activities.
